1 to 1 training

This is the most efficient method as all training time is concentrated on the individual and the dog, enabling a dedicated plan and structure which will provide the framework for the best rate of progress.  

Group training

We also run group training courses on behalf of The Gundog Club catering for  all gundog breeds,  Retrievers, Hunter Retrievers (Spaniels) and of course all the HPR breeds. Please consult their website or call them on 01428 717529 to find out about the courses available and dates.

Llanforda  HPR Gundog Training

At LLanforda HPR, we have been training dogs to work in the field, on the rough shoot, at Field Trials and Working Tests, regularly competing with success at all levels.  We are therefore well placed to help you and your dog to get the very best from the partnership. The selective breeding over generations which has led to today’s gundog instils the instincts  which the dog performs naturally, sometimes needing guidance or encouragement which the right training environment will provide.  Just as important is the training of you, the owner and handler, to learn how to correctly work your dog,  to understand how the dog works, why it works in the way it does and so understand how this is translated in the field into a successful working relationship.  It is a truism that training is as much about the handler as it is the dog!  After all, the dog has natural instincts  to guide it,  the handler has it all to learn from scratch.
